Panasonic launches bullet cameras loaded with high quality features
Panasonic is set to launch two new security cameras, aimed at small to medium sized businesses, which it says are some of the most cost effective available.
The discreet WV-SPW532L and WV-SPW312L bullet cameras, set for release in early November 2015, are packed with many of the features from the company’s 3 and 5 series cameras at a fraction of the cost.
The Variable Image Quality in Specified area (VIQS) option allows the cameras to select areas within an image to stream at a higher quality, while streaming the rest at a reduced quality. This reduces the file size, saving both streaming and data storage costs.
H.264 compression is another feature which creates high quality images at a lower file size. In addition, Panasonic smart coding technology saves costs by reducing bandwidth by as much as 70 per cent. Both versions can be fully integrated with the WJ-NV200 Network Disk Recorder.
The SPW532L produces 1,080p full HD images at up to 30 fps and the SPW312L produces 720p HD images, also at up to 30 fps. Built-in IR-LEDs are smart and adapt to the light conditions to deliver a crisp and clear image in any low light conditions.
Gerard Figols, Product Marketing Manager for Panasonic Security Solutions, said, “Security cameras at this price but with such impressive features are unheard of in the market. They are versatile cameras with a wide dynamic range and high light compensation, which means that they are not dazzled by different lighting.
“Because we have integrated technology usually associated with high end cameras, we are able to reduce networking costs and of course, being Panasonic, the build quality is excellent. As a consequence we are sure that these will be two of the most cost effective security cameras available anywhere.’’
The IP66 rated bullet cameras are both water and dust resistant and ready for outdoor mounting. The cameras can be mounted directly onto a wall, without the need for a base bracket, meaning quick and easy installation.
The cameras come at an RRP of €430 (WV-SPW532L) and €390 (WV-SPW312L).
